Who Was Togarmah?
Togarmah is a name found in the Bible in Genesis 10, which lists the descendants of Noah. This list shows the different peoples known to the ancient Hebrews. Togarmah is a descendant of Japheth, one of Noah’s sons. Togarmah is believed to represent people who lived in Anatolia, a region in modern-day Turkey.
In the Middle Ages, some sources claimed that Togarmah was the legendary ancestor of several groups from the Caucasus region, such as the Armenians and Georgians Ararat Urartu.
Ahtamar Island
Ahtamar Island Overview
Ahtamar Island, also called Akdamar or Aghtamar, is the second-largest of the four islands in Lake Van, located in eastern Turkey. The island is about 0.7 square kilometers in size and is roughly 3 kilometers from the shoreline.
At the western end of the island, there is a steep, grey limestone cliff that rises 80 meters above the lake’s surface (1,912 meters above sea level). The island then slopes down towards the east, where there is a flat area with a spring that provides plenty of water Daily Tour Istanbul.
The island is home to the 10th-century Armenian Holy Cross Cathedral, which served as the seat of the Armenian Apostolic Church in Aghtamar from 1116 to 1895.

Mount Ararat (Cudi Dagi)
Cudi Dagi is a mountain located in southeast Turkey, near Sirnak. An important conference, the “International Noah and Judi Mountain” symposium, was held in Sirnak under the guidance of Sirnak University. One goal of the conference was to present evidence suggesting that Cudi Dagi, not the traditional Mount Ararat (known as Agri Dagh), is the actual resting place of Noah’s Ark.
This mountain is often confused with Mount Ararat, but it is actually a different mountain located just south of Sirnak.
